Welcome to the IPLE

It is our ambition to support young people so that they can enjoy learning, attain a school-leaving certificate and develop sound vocational prospects for life after school.

We achieve this through the individualisation of learning processes, through learning in socially relevant real-life situations, and through connecting practical experiences with learning at school. Cultural and subject knowledge thus becomes a tool for shaping one’s own personal life.

Over the past 20 years, our institute has developed the educational programme of Productive Learning – a concept with a sound theoretical and methodological basis, which has been successfully implemented throughout Germany in no fewer than 84 schools.

The Institute of Productive Learning in Europe (IPLE) is an Affiliated-Institute of the Alice Salomon University Berlin and has been involved in school development and teacher training since 1991.

We develop and pilot concepts for individualised and practice-oriented learning at school, and we work collaboratively with Ministries, schools, teachers and pupils on the design, implementation, evaluation and further enhancement of these concepts.

Our key areas are concept development, process facilitation, training and mentoring for schools and teachers.
